Our communities are filled with organizations, foundations, programs and groups of people who offer so much. Local or national, people have come together to fill very important needs and roles in our communities. Whether rendering humanitarian aid and assistance, or offering programs or services that help strengthen individuals or bring communities together in positive, constructive ways. Our Power of Community department is about these people who are helping people to make a difference and strengthen our towns and cities across the globe.

You can have Pick Me Up magazine showcase an organization by filing out the "Power of Community" Interview Form, or write for any number of the columns below by using our Content Submission Form and selecting "The Power of Community".
Columns:

UPBeat:
Dedicated to our public servants - CHP, sheriff, police, firefighters, and EMTs. So often we hear about the negative side of law enforcement, crime and tragedy, but we just know that there are moments where our public servant personnel shine - stories of courage, life-saving incidents, or when they’ve just been there for people to lend a helping hand. This section is for the stories that are rarely heard above the noise of media sensationalism and negative press. We all need to hear the good stuff. Fill out our UPBeat Report Form and share your story of how our public servants are changing lives by serving us all. After all, the more public servants are recognized for the positive work that they do, the more likely they are to engage in serving positively!

ReachingOut:
Have you formally or informally banded together as a non-profit organization, a group of friends, employees or otherwise to make a difference in your community in some way? If so, we want to hear about it! Help us to get your word out, and Pick You Up so that people can applaud your efforts, and offer support that you may need.

MyHomeTown:
It's about home town pride! What makes your home town special? Does it have a unique history or a certain charm or feel? Grab a camera, take a walk down the streets of your own home town and give us all a virtual tour of the shops or historic treasures that make your home town shine.

The appearance of any of these columns in Pick Me Up depends upon the submission of articles or stories from representatives of organizations or individuals who share their stories. So, if you want to see more positive in our communities, help us give a voice to the positive that is happening by sharing your story with our readers.
